E-governance is a major thrust
sector for InApp. Being an active proponent of the power of Open Source
and its impact on e-governance, InApp has had a dedicated team working
on E-governance projects in India. In the US our focus areas are e-governance
at the town and county level and GASB, the fund based accounting system,
which is being used by Government agencies.
We have worked at the local community level on the following e-governance
projects
WINGS portal for local self-government: This project was developed
on the FLOSS (Free, Libre and Open Source software). The portal essentially
has three parts, the intranet, extranet and the public access area.
Functions consist of project monitoring, tender management, asset management,
bill processing, grievance redressal and file tracking.
CALTRANS – InApp has worked together with a CMAS sub-contractor
on the CALTRANS SMARS project. The project involved support work on
the SMARS application which automates inspection visits and tracking
information on these visits.
KSIE Enterprise Information portal: This solution was deployed for
the cargo custodian of a major international airport. It is a comprehensive
intranet based portal which included modules for Financial Management
and Accounting, Payroll, Sales Accounting and management, Workflow automation
and management of an International Air Cargo complex. This work was
an extension of the EDI system for cargo handling that InApp had developed
for the client previously.
InApp’s CMMI Level 5 certified project management standards has
helped in ensuring that all the stakeholders are satisfied with the project
deliverables at each stage of the project. For most of the projects in
the e-governance sector, InApp has leveraged upon its strong resource
base on the LAMP and the Java /J2EE technology space. Over the years we
have developed rapid deployment methodologies, which helps us deliver
faster on e-governance projects.
